If your Big Trak is over 20 years old (trust me, it is) then there's a good chance that the traction giving o-rings are no more than a distant memory. These little rubber rings are essential for any Big Trak trying to navigate over anything that is not completely flat.
The good news is that a company named McMaster-Carr has a part (9452K161) that works perfectly as a replacement. They come in packs of 50 for about 8 USD. I always have some on hand, so you can check with me if you don't need quite that many. A special thanks to David Cook over at the Robot Room for finding this replacement part.

I've just recently "re-resurrected" my Big Trak for the third time. Every 5 years or so I "find" it and fall in love all over again. Anyway as a kid I took the O rings off to use the Big Trak in the mud. It made for cool spin outs and stuff but of course they're long gone. How do I go about tapping into your stash?

Hi,
I am also in the market for some wheel rubbers if anyone has any.
If not then I'll order a bulk lot and make the available at cost to other members
Cheers

|
|
I tried to source the O-Rings from the US as suggested but they only deal with large customers.
I calculated the Imperial measurements and sourced from UK. More expensive but I now have 15 of these on sale on eBay now.
Used one for my missing O-Ring on my Big Trak and it fits very nicely.
They may seem expensive (£1.99 each inc postage) but after purchasing from supplier and paying eBay fees etc they are still reasonable.
If you're interested they are at:
